V2V Advocate: Miguel Munoz
(In loving memory of our fellow veteran and friend)
Miguel Munoz was an Assistant Professor in Economics here at NVC. He was a Vietnam veteran who served with the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade, While serving in a tour from 1965-1966, he was wounded twice from combat related actions. Some of his citations include the Combat Infantry Badge, Silver Star, and 2 Purple Hearts. After returning from Vietnam, he was stationed with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg and at Ft. Benning for Ranger School. After leaving the Army, he was a Counselor with the Veterans Administration (VA).
NVC Veteran Advocates (V2V) provide students who are military members (current & former) with information, resources, and advocacy to help them succeed in higher education.
The goal of our services is to provide our veteran students with:

- Opportunities to connect with other veterans
- Faculty and Staff Advocates (Fellow veterans in the list below, are also available to provide campus information, resources, and additional support).
Consider joining the SALUTE Organization (Service, Academics, Leadership, Unity, Tribute, Excellence)
- Veterans National Honor Society
- Honorable Discharge
- 12 credit hours completed (undergrad work)
- 3.0 GPA or higher
